Getting a Library Card

Getting a library card is simple;
  1. Bring a photo ID or a piece of mail proving that you are a resident of Durham
  2. Fill out an application
  3. Upon completion, the librarian will issue you a library card

Remember to bring the card with you to the library. The barcode on the card will also help you access your account online from home and is also neccesary when downloading audio or ebooks. (For more information about how to access your account, Click here.)

Durham residents may get a card for free. Students and teachers in the Oyster River School System, students from UNH, home-schooled children who reside in the Oyster River Cooperative School District and employees of Durham businesses may get a library card for free. Non-residents can pay a $30 annual fee for a card.

Children can get their own cards once they can write their full name. Parents may want to consider checking out materials for young children on the parent's card as patron information is restricted by state law, RSA 201-D:11.
