Order Books and Materials From Other Libraries
can order books and other materials that we don't own from other
libraries in New Hampshire! If the other library is willing to lend, we
will have it delivered here at no cost to you. First, check the Durham Public Library Catalog to confirm that we don't own the item. You can place an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) order one of three ways:
- Fill out an ILL form at the circulation desk, with the title, author, your name, and phone number.
- Call the library at 868-6699 and we will take your order over the phone.
- Send us an email with "ILL request" in the subject line. Our address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Most of the books available for borrowing are listed in the statewide library catalog NHU-PAC, but not all materials have been entered, so don't hesitate to ask us
and we will try to locate the title. In extraordinary cases, we can
order items from out of state, in which case the patron will be
responsible for any postal charges.
If you have any questions, call us at 868-6699.
groups may request multiple copies of a title and we will order them
through interlibrary loan from other libraries. Simply fill out a
request card at the front desk and provide us with the book title, the
author, the name of the book group, how many copies you need, when you
need them, and the date of the book discussion. Please allow at least five weeks
lead time before your scheduled book discussion to insure that the
books arrive in time. You may also request books over the phone.
